I have a deeply embedded respect for nature
It started at high school where I developed an interest in the indigenous of Northern America, because of their culture, their philosophy of life and their respect for nature.
They feel a direct connection with their surroundings and this is what inspires me.
They respect flora and fauna by living in a sustainable manner.
By doing so their living habits do not exhaust the earth. I truly admire this and I am inspired to follow their way of living.
This concerns my heart and motivates me
My journey in 1972 through Navajo territory, USA, was 'a dream come true'.

I expressed my love for the indigenous during my time at the art academy, where I used geometric shapes in all types of my art work. Many of my recent art work continues to be influenced by native Indian art
